Search for books, journals, and audiovisual material

How can I…

…find books, journals, audiovisual material, etc.

TEI of Epirus Library offers an important collection of books, journals and other types of material while offers access to databases and special collections.  All its collections serve the research and educational interests of the academic community of the TEI of Epirus.

…locate material in the Library.

You can find printed and audiovisual material by searching the online Library Catalogue (OPAC). Main Library Catalogue contains records of all four collections of Main Library of Arta and Branches of Preveza, Ioannina and Igoumenitsa.

Author and title searching

Use the drop-down menu on the left-hand side and select Author (Lastname_ firstname) or Title and then type the author’s name or title in the right-hand box.

Subject heading searching

To find subject headings or subject terms select Subject from the drop-down menu on the left-hand side and then type in your term.

All Fields searching

All Fields searching will look for your term(s) in the title, author, subject and all other fields. Use All Fields if you want to expand your search or you are not sure for the proper directory to search.

Check the results list and click on the title you are interested in for further details (full record). Check information about the item’s copies at the bottom of the record. These are: Location (Mail Library of Branch Library), Call Number (classification number), Copies (number of available copies of each library), and Status (On shelf or on loan).

…find electronic journals

You can locate articles from electronic journals by searching the vast collections offered by the Consortium of Greek Academic Libraries – HEAL- Link and other databases held by the Library.

Via the Consortium, all TEI of Epirus members have access to thousands of electronic journals searchable in many ways (subject, author, title, publisher, etc.). Access is freely provided by the TEI within its network or with authorized remote access. Users may read, print, download, and save records provided that they accept the provisions of the legislation being in effect for Copyright and related issues.

…get access to library databases

Databases (full text or bibliographic) are organized collections of data characterized by their diversity and credibility. They contain several types of resources (journal articles, conference papers, technical reports, book chapters, patents, etc.) and are related to a vast array of subjects. Some databases are subject-specific or contain a certain type of material (e.g. theses). Users search a database in many ways (key-words, author, title, and subject) or by browsing the relevant indexes.

The TEI of Epirus Library maintains subscriptions to several databases which are accessible through the TEI network or by authorized remote access. Click here for a database catalogue.

…find material in union catalogues.

You can find books and other types of material owned by other Greek or foreign libraries by searching a union catalogue. A union catalogue is a combined library catalogue describing the collections of a number of libraries.
